That's interesting to know that vision takes up a lot of processing power. It kind of explains when I'm fatigued and in a busy environment I get 'startled' alot from things that are happening around me, particularly when gazing around. Things just seem they come out of nowhere and it kind of spooks me.

This is a great explanation not only for the TBI/concussion community but also for those living with other chronic conditions like ME/CFS, CCI, Atlantoaxial instability, and MS. While recovery strategies may differ, understanding how to navigate pacing and prevent crashing, as well as post-crash care, is essential. Thanks for making this video.

I was tboned in nov 2021, I was a high functioning multi tasking person now I struggle still to this day and everyday at around 2 or 2:30 pm I am mentally exhausted and need to rest my brain. I struggle everyday with all the other symptoms that exist in my life and do not seem to get better with time. It is extremely frustrating to not be able to be in environments with background noise as this is very overwhelming when my brain is experiencing stress and migraines.

I was told by doc i would never walk again and may regain majority of feeling in up to 5 years in which my answer was "insert choosen vulgarity here" signed myself out and never stepped foot in a "medical establishment" again!!!!!! Within that I on my own with interesting methods was walking in 6 months. Problem is i never had physical and mental therapy and if i did i think my list of questions would just be bigger lol. Any suggestions on avenues to take to relearn my brain? Because i am overly active physically especially when people are around I'm told i don't need well lots but they are the same people who use my lack of memory for their benefit amd i really need guidance from people who have experienced this. Sorry so early lack of sleep seems to be my mo these days and if i didn't get this out now may have nevah happened. thanks to anyone who got this far id appreciate any feedback

27 year TBI survivor here after a bad car wreck on 3/31/97... I was in the hospital for 26 days and Physical Therapy for 18 months... I struggle with repeating myself, poor multitasking skills, poor temper and poor short term memory... I attempted and failed at several careers-(Special Education Teacher,Car Salesman,911 Radio Dispatcher ).. The Combination of TBI issues,PTSD issues, and Career Failures led to increased depression, anxiety and suicidal thoughts... I now FINALLY have a somewhat decent quality of life... I FINALLY received SSDI-( Social Security Disability Income ) after 15 years,4 appeals and 3 attorneys... I now drive for a Car Dealership part time and Build Model Cars as a hobby... Thank you so much. The battery analogy is spot on. That is exactly how it is. Very low energy. If I visit an area or a person it can be 2 to three days of sleeping continuously. Never-ending exhaustion. Every task is an effort. Because one may look okay and well put together people may not realise that you have a tbi. It's quite something to have your life change just like that overnight. Thank you again, for this video.
